Early morning walk in crisp mountain air.

At our resort, we offer a daily walk around the beautiful hills and paths nearby. Before you come to the resort, how about starting an easy stretch routine at home? Stretching helps to prevent injury and actually helps with sleep.

Here are some places on the internet to find a short stretch routine; each is linked to the page with the routine. Obviously each routine needs to be tailored to your current fitness level and ability to stretch.

Ixtapan Spa and Resort and Summer Hiking

North Americans think Mexican resorts are only on the beach.  Ixtapan lies in magnificent mountains, with cool Summers. Average temperatures in  Summer are  60-80.  As our vans drive you from Mexico City  or Toluca Airport to us, you traverse what is defined as  ‘the Southern Plateau’.Ancient lakes have carved deep gorges into the mountains, which in turn are covered with all variety of unusual desert plants and pine/oak forests. Some of our morning guided walks are routed past these plants so bring your camera. And at least one of our breakfast juices is made from cactus!foilage Ixtapanfoilage Ixtapan  summer hiking
